A three-acre environmental walking trail is bordered by Belcher’s Creek, which flows into Greenwood Lake and boasts a scenic vista of Bearfort Mountain rising in the distance.
Currently, the Homestead is a public space owned by the Township of West Milford and the West Milford Board of Education. The Friends of Wallisch Homestead is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group whose mission is to act as stewards in the preservation and adaptive reuse of the Homestead buildings and grounds.
The property was willed to the township by brothers Louis and John Wallisch. It was their intention that the property be used by the public for “educational purposes and the preservation of the community and its environs, including use of the Homestead and lands for sports, wildlife and recreational purposes.”\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][cs_element_layout_column _id=”32″ ][cs_element_image _id=”33″ ][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][/cs_element_section][cs_element_section _id=”34″ ][cs_element_layout_row _id=”35″ ][cs_element_layout_column _id=”36″ ][cs_element_headline _id=”37″ ][cs_content_seo]Events and Activities\n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_text _id=”38″ ][cs_content_seo]Special events happen year round such as our Music Festival, Art Show and Sale, Yoga and Barn Sales.
