Volunteer

Volunteering at the Homestead allows everyone with a little time to apply their talents and meet their neighbors.  We have a Work Day once a month where volunteers have done gardening, clearing the hiking trails, boarding up windows, and even putting a new roof on the farmhouse. We also need fun-loving volunteers to help us hold successful fundraising events. There’s plenty of work for all skill sets.

How to volunteer:
We’re always looking for more help! If you or your group would like to volunteer for specific work days or fundraising events, be sure to check out our event page or contact us at wallishhomestead@gmail.com.

The Homestead is looking for some new members for the 2016 season.

Since its simple beginning in the summer of 2013 as a small group of people looking to preserve the homestead, the Friends of Wallisch Homestead (FOWH) has grown into a successful organization that has made significant progress with its goals. You can join this team by becoming a member, and further promote FOWH’s progress.

The FOWH host many events at the homestead, including star gazing, gardening and bird-watching presentations, as well as art, music and theatrical events. There are also many volunteer opportunities to spruce up the property, which is located at 65 Lincoln Ave..

The Friends are also partnering with Sustainable West Milford and hosting a second community garden on the property.
